The Artist
Stacey Brown is an Atlanta-based visual artist originally from Murfreesboro, North Carolina. A graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta, He began his professional career in graphic design before returning to his primary passion—fine art. Now celebrating 27 years as a full-time visual artist, his design background continues to influence his contemporary practice through bold composition, dynamic color, and intentional visual storytelling.
Known as the “Glass Man,” Brown is recognized for his vibrant acrylic and mixed media works on glass. His art explores African American identity, community, resilience, and cultural legacy. Through transparency, reflection, texture, and layered color, he creates depth and movement that shift with changing light and the viewer’s perspective. His subject matter ranges from contemporary figurative works and narrative abstractions to urban scenes and Southern landscapes.
Brown’s signature “Broken Is Beautiful” series was born after one of his completed glass paintings accidentally shattered. Rather than discard the work, he reassembled the broken pieces and discovered a new visual language within the fractures. The series transforms broken glass into layered compositions mounted on wood, celebrating the beauty that can emerge from damage, change, and imperfection. Each crack and fragment becomes part of the artwork’s story, symbolizing resilience, healing, renewal, and the strength found in rebuilding. The series reflects Brown’s belief that being broken does not diminish value—it can reveal new possibilities, deeper meaning, and unexpected beauty.
Brown’s artwork has appeared in numerous television and film productions, including ABC’s Uncle Buck and For Life; CBS’s Hawaii Five-0, The Odd Couple, and The Unicorn; NBC’s Chicago P.D. and New Amsterdam; Fox’s Our Kind of People; Bounce TV productions; the Netflix series Grand Army; Power Book III: Raising Kanan; Shrinking; Home Sweet Home Alone; and the comedy film Here Today, starring Tiffany Haddish.
He has created original murals for Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint in downtown Atlanta and Farm Burger in Atlanta’s Buckhead community, as well as additional restaurant and commercial projects in Atlanta and Orlando, Florida. His work is included in the corporate collections of Verizon Communications, Nationwide Insurance, Feeding America, and Liberty Bank.
In 2026, Brown’s work was added to the collection of the Clark Atlanta University Art Museum, marking an important milestone in his career and further recognizing his contribution to contemporary African American art and visual culture.
His work is currently exhibited at Buckhead Art & Company Gallery in Atlanta.
His eclectic and contemporary artwork is collected by art lovers throughout the United States and abroad, establishing him as a distinctive and visionary artistic voice for the 21st century.
